| I'm using a common stain, but I'm applying it in harmony with the grain of the wood, but in a non-uniform manner so that it adds dimension to the fur of the bears. |

| ...And a close-up. You can see where the stain is flowing along the cuts I made, too. I also applied stain to the nose to blacken the skin. These will be brown bear cubs. Black bear cubs would have received a much deeper stain. |
